water leaves its mark

The actions of water reveal a myriad of forms, references, colour and complexities in our relationship with this vital element. I have made many trips to various parts of inland Australia over the years, observing the land and its ecosystems and comparing what I know of coastal waterways with what I see there. The story is one that is slower, sometimes sluggish, almost sick, yet remarkable, alluring and verdant nonetheless. Many of these images expose our impact on water ecosystems as much as those that water makes on manmade and natural landscapes: A slow and persistent influence on biology, geology and human structures that leaves its mark.
